Soft washing is way less pressure, at around 100psi it might be around 2 to 3x the pressure of your garden hose. At this this pressure it eliminates the risk of damaging anything. Secondly, we don’t use household bleach like many companies. We use a chlorine and a fungicide, mixed at just the right ratio depending on what we are cleaning whether it’s the siding or the roof etc. The fungicide stays on the surface of the building leaving a residue that will keep mold from growing back for at least 18 months. Without fungicides the mold will start to grow back the next day, invisible to the naked eye.
Soft Washing a roof is the only way to go. Low pressure doesn’t ruin the integrity of the shingles. A stronger concentration is also used holding off the mold and moss growth for 3-5 years. More so it extends the life of the roof if done routinely for decades.
